08 Jul Analyze and Measure Your Campaign Results, and Just About Everything Else [Social Media Tip]
DhariLo Social Media Tip 15 Is: Analyze and Measure Your Campaign Results!
You may think this is an obvious tip, but let’s get something out of the way. If you know me in my professional life, you know I’m absolutely obsessed with analytics, and you’d be surprised as to how often they are overlooked. For this tip, I’m referring to deeper analyzation than impressions, reach, or the number of people who signed up for your contest.
Take note of which posts from your campaign drew the most interaction. Maybe the one that got shared the most actually got the least amount of signups. Did influencers cause a bump in traffic? Which ones? You should also compare the types of campaigns you execute. A campaign to drive more audience engagement as a weekly Q&A may be more effective than a podcast, but you may be so caught up in the goal to drive engagement, that you miss how the campaigns affect your email sign ups.
This tip is also to get you thinking “from the end”. In other words, set yourself up correctly in the start of any campaign, so you can effectively measure the data as deeply as possible at the end.
One last thought, and yes this is about the “any measurable component” part of my graphic. Measure and analyze anything you can! From follower bumps, to who is sharing your content and what else they are sharing. You have to get to know your audience as well as you know your best friend – we’re building relationships here!
Have you had any campaign results (intended or not) seriously surprise you?
