Burberry Previews SS16 Collection on Snapchat Before London Fashion Week

When two of my favorite things (digital marketing and fashion) come together, I have to talk about it!

Burberry has always embraced the cutting edge of technology when it comes to marketing their fashion label. Remember in 2013 when they were the 1st to tease about the iPhone5 by filming their entire SS14 show using the phone? They also teased the slow motion feature with a clip on on Instagram.

Yesterday, the brand debuted a sneak peek of its Spring/Summer 2016 collection on Snapchat – a full day before their London Fashion Week show! A tweet directed fans to search “Burberry” where users were able to follow the Snapchat story for the SS16 preview. Fans got to see the pieces that would grace the runway, as well as get back stage access to the beauty looks and more. The last snaps prompted fans to watch the live show, which happened this morning.

Burberry even used Twitter to let fans watch the show live.

Enough about digital, let’s get to the fashion! Here are few of my favorite snaps from the preview. The last 3 rows were my absolute favorite pieces (those shoes!) followed by the snaps promoting the live show.

Today, the Burberry Snapchat story features action from the official fashion show and even more from behind the scenes. In a world where high end brands are the last to embrace digital trends, it’s awesome to see Burberry embrace social media marketing and technology and use it in a fluent, efficient way.
