09 Jan What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Post On Social Media
Not every day is Instagrammable. Sometimes you just don’t know what to post on social media.
There are some days when you can’t wait to post. Maybe there’s an event going on and you feel like you finally have something exciting to show, or you just signed a new client, launched a new program or product, or simply got a new notebook you’re excited about. That’s when posting feel light and easy. You’re full of ideas and you cant wait to show your audience whats going on.
But for a lot of entrepreneurs, figuring out what to post each week can be daunting. You might be uncertain about what your audience wants to see, or you’re having an anxious day and can’t think straight. Or maybe you’re just not feeling it – no inspiration, no motivation and nothing is coming to mind.
I’ve been there. Just sitting there with nothing coming to mind. I’d end up closing the app ands days pass without an ounce of inspiration. I’m all for a little social media break, but getting into this habit means that a day can turn to a week, then to a few weeks. And that means you’re audience isn’t hearing from you and isn’t growing. Which means you’ll have 0 clients or sales coming in.
So what can you do to avoid these frustrating, non-instagramable days? Have a strategy in place. One big thing I’ve learned over the past 10 years in social media marketing is that creativity and inspiration can’t strike with a cluttered mind. Planning things out leaves your mind open and free to notice opportunities for content where you didn’t before. Knowing what’s coming up will let you plan accordingly and get the most out of moments you have to create content. This means you remain consistent, your audience keeps growing and the clients keep coming.
